About GitType
GitType is a command-line typing practice game that turns source code from real repositories into typing challenges. It parses code using tree-sitter, displays the challenge in a terminal interface, and tracks words per minute, accuracy, and consistency in real time. A ranking system unlocks developer titles as users practice. GitType supports code written in many languages, including Rust, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Go, Ruby, Swift, Kotlin, Java, PHP, C#, C, C++, Haskell, Dart, Scala, Clojure, Elixir, Erlang, and Zig. It is intended for developers who want to practice typing with code rather than generic lessons. Using code from familiar repositories makes practice relevant to a developer’s work.
