About Gizz Tapes
Gizz Tapes is a mobile jukebox for live concert recordings by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. It brings together recordings of performances with artwork, show notes, and metadata, allowing listeners to browse shows and stream audio from a collection of archived live performances. The app supports queuing recordings and exploring curated collections. Users can follow updates through an Atom feed or social account notifications when new shows are added. Its purpose is to make live concert recordings accessible in a single listening interface, rather than provide studio albums or a general music library. Gizz Tapes is unofficial and is not affiliated with the band. The supplied description says the audio is streamed from public archival collections and show information comes from a fan-maintained metadata site. The availability and quality of recordings therefore depend on the external collections and their metadata. The app is useful for fans who want to browse and listen to live performances, read notes about a show, and keep a queue of recordings. Streaming requires a network connection and continued access to the hosting collections.
