About GPSTest
GPSTest displays real-time information about satellites visible to a device and helps users examine GPS and other GNSS reception. It supports satellite systems including GPS, GLONASS, QZSS, BeiDou, Galileo, and satellite-based augmentation systems. A sky view uses different shapes to distinguish satellite groups, while the app reports information useful for understanding whether location reception is working. The app also provides controls for injecting time assistance data, injecting satellite assistance data, or clearing stored assistance data. These operations use Android platform APIs and assistance information provided by the device manufacturer. Settings include light or dark themes, map-tile choices, automatic GPS startup, update intervals based on time and distance, and keeping the screen on. GPSTest is designed for developers, platform engineers, and users diagnosing GNSS behavior; it presents receiver and satellite information rather than providing turn-by-turn navigation.
