About GUARD
GUARD is a portable Windows utility for backing up folders, creating system images, and keeping an inventory of installed applications. Folder backups can be written to local storage, an external drive, or a network share, with additive or mirror copy modes, exclusions, dated versions, and pruning. A dry-run preview lets users inspect a planned backup, while scheduled and run-on-connect options support recurring jobs. For system recovery, GUARD can create full system images and includes a recovery-media wizard. It can also export an application inventory to support reinstalling apps after a clean operating system installation, optionally including their settings. The interface is designed for screen reader access, and the application is distributed as a portable folder rather than requiring installation. These functions bring data backup, system recovery, and post-reinstall preparation together in one Windows tool.
