About gup
gup manages command-line tools installed with Go. It can update the global set of installed binaries in parallel, pin selected tools to exact versions, and show which tools are installed or have updates available. It can also remove binaries, export and import a tool set to reproduce it on another computer, and migrate that set to a new binary directory. These functions address common maintenance work around Go-installed tools, including tracking what is present and keeping chosen versions stable. gup operates on command-line binaries in the configured Go installation location rather than managing application projects or source code. Its export and import functions help make a tool setup repeatable across development machines.
