About HardlinkBackup

HardlinkBackup creates incremental backups of selected source directories. It compares files with earlier backups, copies changed files, and uses hard links for unchanged files when the destination drive supports them. A hard link lets multiple backup directories refer to the same stored file data, so each dated backup can appear complete while using space mainly for one baseline copy plus changes. Old backup directories can be deleted independently. The program also supports scheduled runs and email notifications, and it can remove old backups automatically. The evidence notes that hard-link support depends on the target file system, giving NTFS as an example. This makes destination compatibility an important part of the storage workflow.
