About Headphone indicator

Headphone indicator is a small Android utility that shows a status-bar notification icon when headphones are connected. It distinguishes a standard headphone connection from a headset connection, and supports both 3.5 mm audio-jack devices and USB headphones or headsets. After being started once, the app runs a background service that updates the icon as headphone status changes. Its purpose is to make the connection state visible at a glance, particularly on devices where that status is not otherwise obvious. The app is described as ad-free, open source under GPL version 3 or later, and without analytics. Headphone indicator focuses on connection-state display; it does not manage audio routing or provide playback controls. Its small, single-purpose design offers a status cue in the notification area for wired audio connections.
