About Help

Help is a viewer for software documentation. It displays Mallard documents, as well as DocBook, Info, man-page, and HTML documentation. Interactive search and bookmarks help users locate and return to relevant material across supported documents. Help also includes an editor mode for Mallard documents. In this mode, editorial comments and revision statuses are visible, which can assist people reviewing or editing documentation. The combination of several documentation formats, search, bookmarks, and editorial information makes Help useful both for reading instructions and working with Mallard documentation. Mallard is the documentation format for which Help acts as the default viewer application. This covers both general help pages and formatted reference documents.
