About HexViewer
HexViewer opens files that do not have a corresponding Android app and displays their contents as hexadecimal data or plain text. In hexadecimal view, the file’s bytes can be edited. The app also supports searching within the open file in either hexadecimal or plain-text mode and can save the result to the device. The app is useful for inspecting or making small edits to binary files, while plain-text view provides a readable option for text-based contents. Android file-permission behavior affects the recent-files list: after using “Save as,” a saved file may need to be reopened before it appears in recent files, and the list may not update with the new location. Large files can substantially reduce performance or cause the app to stop, especially on devices with limited resources. The description warns that files larger than about 20 MB may not open on recent smartphones, and the practical limit can be lower on older devices.
