About HN
HN is an Android reader for technology news and discussion. It lets users browse stories, including stories beyond the front page, and switch between story listings and their comment threads. Comments can be collapsed or expanded by tapping them, making long discussions easier to navigate. Stories can be opened in a text-focused view, a web view, or the device’s system browser; users can choose which view is the default. A long press on a story provides an upvote action. Text size can be adjusted across three settings, allowing readers to make articles and discussions more comfortable to read on a phone. The app focuses on reading and basic participation rather than creating or managing posts. Its controls are designed to keep story browsing, article viewing, and comment navigation close together. The supplied product information states that an analytics library was removed before the app was built.
