About Ithaka Board Game
Ithaka Board Game is an abstract two-player strategy game played on a four-by-four grid with three pieces in each of four colors. The pieces are shared by both players rather than belonging to one side. At the start, each color occupies a corner and the two neighboring edge spaces. On a turn, a player moves one piece any number of empty spaces in a straight horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line. The piece chosen must be adjacent to another piece of the same color before it moves, and players cannot move the same piece their opponent moved on the previous turn. These restrictions shape which pieces are available and how the board can be changed. A player wins by arranging three pieces of one color in a row or by leaving the opponent with no legal move. Because all pieces are shared, players must consider how a move affects both their own prospects and the positions available to the other player. Ithaka is a compact abstract game centered on movement, color patterns, and restricting the opponent’s options. It suits players who enjoy strategic board puzzles with a small grid and rules that create shifting opportunities rather than fixed ownership of pieces.
