About jj-commit
jj-commit is a command-line helper for committing changes with the jj version-control workflow. It guides the user through interactive prompts and applies a consistent commit-message convention, supporting Conventional Commits or Gitmoji. Commit messages summarize changes and can follow agreed patterns so that a project’s history is easier to scan. The tool can inspect recent commit history to detect which of the two conventions a project appears to use, then use that convention in its prompts. This reduces the need to remember the formatting rules while preparing a commit. Its interactive prompts focus on forming and recording a commit according to the project’s established style.
