About Key Mapper
Key Mapper lets users assign actions and macros to physical buttons and other input devices. It supports phone buttons such as volume and side keys, game-controller buttons, keyboards, headsets, and headphones. Users can also create on-screen button layouts and map actions to those buttons. Triggers can include single, long, or repeated presses, combinations of keys, and on-screen controls. Actions include opening apps, controlling media, sending input, performing screen taps or gestures, and sending intents to other apps. Sequences can combine actions with delays or repetition. Constraints limit a mapping to chosen situations, such as when a particular app is in the foreground, media is playing, or the screen is locked. Mouse buttons and gamepad joysticks or triggers are not currently supported. Key Mapper uses an accessibility service to detect the focused app, apply mappings, draw floating controls, and emulate configured gestures. When enabled, the service can observe key strokes so it can respond to user-defined shortcuts. The service can be disabled in Android settings. Key Mapper is useful for customizing device controls and automating repeated input, but its available behavior depends on the device and permissions granted.
