About Kinetica
Kinetica is an Android keyboard designed for simultaneous two-thumb typing. Each thumb has its own cursor for tapping or swiping, and the app merges the two streams into a word. It supports tap input, swipe gestures, one-tap double letters, and a direct “peck” mode in which each tap enters exactly the selected character. The keyboard includes word and next-word suggestions, autocorrect with adjustable strength, correction controls, and learning that ranks words based on use. Users can type in multiple languages at once, add text expansions, create custom long-press menus, and adjust layout for landscape, one-handed, or split use. A tutorial introduces the two-thumb method. Kinetica works offline and has no internet permission. Password and private fields turn off suggestions, swipe trails, and learning. It supports a broad set of languages, with Russian, Ukrainian, Hebrew, and Arabic identified as experimental. Settings, learned words, and shortcuts can be backed up together.
