Kivio is a desktop AI client with a built-in agent runtime, available from the system tray or menu bar. Its agent features include chat, projects, assistants, memory, file and image attachments, MCP, skills, and native tools for file operations, shell commands, web access, and running Python. A Lens feature supports screenshot-based visual questions, OCR, formula extraction, and text refinement. The application also provides translation for typed or selected text and screen regions. It supports configurable model providers and can route different features to different models. Document workflows for PDF, Word, and Excel use a bundled offline Python sandbox. The product states that it has no telemetry and keeps API keys and conversation data on the user's machine; requests to external model providers may still transmit the content needed for those services. Users should review tool permissions before enabling file or shell actions.
