About KMouth
KMouth is a text-to-speech interface that lets a person type sentences and have the computer speak them aloud. It is intended for people who cannot speak or have temporarily lost their voice, providing a way to enter a message in text and communicate it through synthesized speech. The application also supports user-defined phrasebooks. A phrasebook can keep reusable wording available for situations where the same sentences are needed repeatedly, reducing the amount of text that must be entered each time. KMouth combines direct text entry with saved phrases in a focused communication tool. The typed input is converted into spoken output through computer speech synthesis.
