kontext is a single-binary utility for declarative management of kubeconfig files. A kubeconfig stores connection and context settings used by tools to communicate with Kubernetes clusters. Declarative management means expressing the intended configuration so it can be maintained consistently, rather than relying only on manual edits. kontext focuses on organizing that Kubernetes configuration through one application that can be run as a single binary. Its role is managing kubeconfig settings, not controlling the workloads running inside a cluster. Users can express the intended cluster connections as configuration and maintain that setup through the command-line utility. The single-binary form keeps the management tool together as one application.
