About LeanType
LeanType is a customizable Android keyboard with gesture typing and editing tools. It supports swipe input with adjustable sensitivity, multilingual suggestions and autocorrection, and dictionary import. Users can move the cursor or select text by swiping on the space bar or using a dedicated editing panel. Layouts include one-handed and split modes, and the keyboard can be resized or floated for different devices. Productivity features include a searchable clipboard, inline calculations, text shortcuts with date and time variables, screenshot text extraction, and modular backup for layouts, dictionaries, themes, and clipboard history. Optional tools add on-device voice typing, handwriting recognition, camera OCR, translation, and AI-assisted proofreading. AI requests require an API key and are sent only when explicitly triggered; compatible local models are also supported. The keyboard is described as keeping keystrokes and personal data on the device, with no telemetry or ads. Suggestions and learning turn off in password and private fields. LeanType is intended for users who want a broad set of input and editing controls in the keyboard itself, with optional network features separated from core typing.
