About Live Captions
Live Captions is a Windows overlay that transcribes system audio in real time. It captures audio from other applications and displays the transcription in an always-on-top caption window. Recognition runs locally using faster-whisper on the GPU, with automatic fallback to the CPU when GPU processing is unavailable.
