About MakeACopy

MakeACopy is an Android document scanner that captures paper pages with the camera, detects document edges, and corrects perspective. Users can adjust the detected boundary manually or let the app do it automatically. A grayscale filter can be applied when creating a PDF. The app performs OCR offline, turning recognized text into searchable content in exported PDFs. Scans can be saved locally or shared through other apps, and the interface supports light and dark system themes. The product description identifies a published version using PaddleOCR, while an alternative OCR build supports other language-data needs. MakeACopy works without a cloud connection, tracking, or analytics, according to its description. It is open source under Apache 2.0. Its combination of camera scanning, perspective correction, offline text recognition, and searchable PDF export is intended for digitizing documents while keeping processing on the device.
