About MCPort
MCPort is a local-first MCP workspace for working with software projects through AI clients. It can read and search files, index code, inspect symbols and Git history, and make contained edits within selected workspaces. Checkpoints, tasks, validation and recovery support review of file changes. Controlled command execution uses allowlists, timeouts, output limits and local confirmation. Optional computer use can control the screen, mouse and keyboard, with approval required for each action. Per-language language-server support provides code navigation and symbol information. Project files, runtime state and credentials remain on the machine by default. Access can be local or enabled for selected workspaces over the internet with authentication. MCPort is intended for people connecting AI clients to project work while keeping workspace permissions and file operations under explicit control.
