About MetroMusic
MetroMusic is an Android player for music files already stored on the phone. Its swipe-based library brings together artists, albums, songs, genres, playlists, listening history, and settings, and users can rearrange the sections. Large lists include alphabetical navigation, while search can be opened within a section. Long-press actions on albums, artists, or genres can play, queue, or hide them. Playback continues when the screen is off and can be controlled from notifications, the lock screen, a headset, or Bluetooth. The queue and current track are restored after closing the app. The player includes an equalizer, sleep timer, and support for Apple Lossless files, which are decoded within the app. Album metadata can be edited in file tags, while playlists, favorites, play counts, and history are kept on the device. Optional connected features include scrobbling listening history, synchronizing favorites, retrieving missing album artwork, and looking up lyrics. These features can be turned off and are not required for playing local music. The interface offers accent colors, light and dark themes, and configurable gestures.
