About My Location
My Location shows a device’s current location using GPS or network-based location providers. GPS can provide a more accurate fix but may take time or fail when satellite signals are unavailable. A lock feature can keep a persistent GPS service active, and the app can show visible satellites with their identifiers and signal quality. Network location estimates a position using Wi-Fi or cellular information when that provider is available on the device. The app displays location information from the system or compatible location backends; it does not itself provide a location service to other apps. Coordinates can be copied to the clipboard or opened in an installed mapping app, and the app can clear assisted GPS data. My Location is intended for checking the location sources available on a device and inspecting GPS signal details. The quality and availability of a location fix depend on the selected provider and the device’s environment.
