About New Relic CLI
New Relic CLI provides terminal access to monitoring and observability data and settings. It can list applications, retrieve metrics, inspect alert policies and dashboards, track deployment markers, and search entities. It also supports managing log-parsing rules, inspecting synthetic-monitor configurations, and viewing user details. For querying, the CLI can run GraphQL requests and NRQL queries, and it can return output as tables, JSON, or plain text suitable for scripts. These functions bring routine monitoring tasks into a command-line workflow: users can inspect system status, review dashboards and alerts, and retrieve data for automated processing. Its scope spans both reading observability information and managing selected configurations.
