About ninja
Ninja is a small build system designed to execute builds quickly. Its input files are generated by a higher-level build system, which describes a project’s build steps and produces the instructions Ninja follows. This division lets project tools handle configuration while Ninja focuses on running the resulting build efficiently. It is useful in software development workflows where a project’s generated build description needs to be executed repeatedly as files change. Ninja is not intended to replace the configuration or project-generation layer; it works with files produced by that layer. Build behavior depends on the generated instructions, available compiler tools, and the source code being built.
