About NoKill

NoKill is a Windows utility for investigating applications that have stopped responding while preserving information that can help diagnose the problem. It detects hung applications, identifies hidden modal dialogs that may be blocking them, and can analyze wait chains to reveal dependencies or deadlocks. Before interacting with the frozen process, it can save reports, screenshots, wait-chain details, memory dumps, and recovery artifacts to a local vault. A background watchdog can preserve evidence automatically when an application is confirmed frozen, and a history view tracks recurring freezes. The design treats terminating the process as a last resort. Its focus is rescue and diagnosis of an unresponsive application, rather than general performance monitoring. The gathered artifacts give a technician material for later investigation while the application’s state is still available.
