About nusic
nusic checks the music library stored on an Android device and looks for new releases by those artists. It uses MusicBrainz, a music information database, to match artists and identify releases, then retrieves available cover images from the Cover Art Archive. The result is a way to discover new music related to artists already in a user's collection, without creating an account. nusic can also check periodically in the background. It schedules regular checks and can begin one when an internet connection becomes available. The first run may take longer while the app initializes its artist and release information; later checks are expected to be faster. The app reads the artist information from local music storage and needs network access to look up releases and cover art. This is a focused discovery tool rather than a music player or a general catalog browser: its recommendations are based on artists found in the device's own music collection. The description notes that its layout is not optimized for tablets, so it is primarily suited to phone-sized use.
