About NWS Weather Alerts Widget
NWS Weather Alerts Widget displays current weather alerts from the U.S. National Weather Service on an Android home screen. Users choose a county, state, or the entire country, and the widget lists active alerts for that area. If the list is longer than the available space, it can be scrolled. Tapping an alert opens its full text. An accompanying app is used to configure the area and can show the raw feed data. The widget is intended for viewing alert information at a glance, with the full text available when more detail is needed. The supplied description says the app does not currently provide audible or other notifications; alerts appear in the widget. Users should therefore open the widget or check an alert’s text rather than expect a separate warning sound or push notification.
