About ObtainX
ObtainX is an Android app manager for finding and updating apps from their original distribution sources. Users can track apps, check for updates, and manage installed applications without a central account or repository. Apps already on the device can be selected for bulk import, and the app can help identify available sources for them. The app groups tracked items into manual or rule-based folders and supports custom sorting, filters, gestures, and icons. A configurable update workflow shows download size, allows downloads to be stopped, supports skipping a release, and can save downloaded installers. Build-verification checks can flag files that do not match published reproducibility or release-attestation information. Updates can be handed off to compatible installer apps for review. ObtainX includes backup and restore for the tracked app list, themes and adaptive layouts for phones, tablets, and foldables, and options for apps that should be checked only on demand. It is free and open source and runs locally without accounts or telemetry. Its purpose is organizing and updating apps from multiple sources; the supported sources and verification options are configurable features rather than a single built-in store.
