About Offline Web Search

Offline Web Search lets users search a curated directory of websites, blogs, developer resources, and RSS feeds from a local database on the device. Since queries run against that database, searching does not require sending terms to a remote search engine. Results can be displayed in a standard list, an inline-link search layout, or a gallery with rich previews. Users can import their own JSON or SQLite databases to replace or customize the index. The app also supports discovering RSS feeds and can display metadata such as ratings, status codes, age labels, and dead-link indicators. Age limits can obscure restricted results. Search history is stored on the device. Offline Web Search is intended for people who want a focused directory of chosen sites rather than general web search. The catalog can be updated or replaced with user-supplied data, and the local database makes the indexed information available without remote queries. The app does not use cookies, advertisements, tracking, or cloud services according to its description.
