About Ollama Operator
Ollama Operator manages the deployment of large language models on a Kubernetes cluster. After the operator and its custom resource definitions are installed, users create model resources and the operator fetches and loads the requested models. This provides a Kubernetes-native way to describe model deployments and let the cluster manage their lifecycle, including environments where multiple models share cluster resources. The operator addresses the gap between running a model locally and managing model services within a cluster. Its work depends on the cluster’s configuration, available compute resources, and model definitions. Ollama Operator is an orchestration component for Kubernetes; it does not itself provide the cluster hardware or determine which models are appropriate for a particular workload.
