About OnePlus Laser Tool
OnePlus Laser Tool measures distance using laser autofocus hardware in compatible OnePlus phones. It reads raw sensor data and displays real-time measurements in centimeters, along with a signal-quality visualization and diagnostic codes. A moving-average smoothing method helps stabilize the displayed reading, and a sensor watchdog reports when the laser is obstructed or out of range. Haptic feedback and a dark interface are also included. Root access is required to read the hardware sensor events. The tool works only on devices with the specified laser autofocus hardware, so compatibility depends on the phone model. It is intended for technical users who want to access and interpret the device’s laser sensor data, rather than a general-purpose measuring app for all Android phones.
