About Open 100x
Open 100x is an Android camera app for long-range shooting. It combines the phone’s native camera zoom with digital cropping to reach up to 100×, depending on the device. Controls include zoom presets, a grid, flashlight, crop adjustment, stability feedback, and histogram tools. After capture, local processing can apply denoising, smoothing, sharpening, contrast and detail recovery, and crop upscaling. The app processes images on the device using traditional image-processing methods rather than AI or cloud services. It does not use external APIs, according to its description. This makes the capture and enhancement workflow local, while avoiding the need to upload images for processing. Open 100x is described in beta. Camera behavior varies because phones differ in camera hardware and access to additional lenses; the 100× figure combines native zoom and digital crop and does not imply that every phone has an optical lens with that magnification. Its tools are designed to help steady, frame, and refine high-zoom shots, with quality depending on the device and conditions.
