About OpenBible

OpenBible is an Android reading app focused on the biblical text itself. It does not add section headings, commentary, reading plans, or tips, keeping the experience centered on choosing a translation and reading. Multiple languages and translations can be downloaded, and the app aims to keep those texts updated to address formatting issues. Readers can select a translation, book, and chapter, or search verse content to find a passage. Display settings include color themes and schemes, text alignment, split-screen mode, font size, and whether verse numbers are visible. Settings default to system preferences, and the reader can temporarily change text size with a pinch or double tap. Selected text can be copied or shared. The app saves the user’s settings, selections, and translations, and those can be backed up for convenience. OpenBible is suited to reading and searching across downloaded Bible translations without additional study material in the interface. The supplied description does not list annotations or guided study features; its emphasis is a customizable reading view with local access to selected texts.
