About OpenBubbles
OpenBubbles is a Linux client for handling messages and iMessage accounts. It provides a chat interface with message search, conversation management, and controls for composing and scheduling messages. Search can be narrowed by conversation, sender, or date, making it easier to find a particular exchange in a large message history. The client includes tools for customizing how conversations are used and displayed. Users can adjust message context menus, choose emoji, configure spellcheck, and edit or reschedule messages. It can show notifications when an account’s phone number deregisters, and provides a profile area for managing iMessage account tasks. When available, audio transcripts and video playback are also supported. OpenBubbles is intended to bring these messaging functions to a Linux desktop. Its interface includes familiar chat features such as unread/read controls, search, and scheduled messages, with additional settings for presentation and account management. This makes it a desktop option for users who want to work with their message conversations and account from Linux.
