About OuterTune
OuterTune combines a local music player with a client for YouTube Music. It can play local audio files such as MP3, OGG, and FLAC, and supports streaming and offline playback of music from the online service. It can play local and online tracks in the same listening session, manage multiple queues, continue in the background, and synchronize an account. Android Auto support extends playback to compatible vehicle interfaces. The app supports synchronized lyrics, including line-by-line and word-by-word karaoke timing. A custom tag reader handles local music metadata, and the player offers audio normalization, tempo and pitch adjustment, and other audio effects. The integrated library screen brings local and online music together. OuterTune requires Android 8 or later; Android 7 may work but is not officially supported. The app is described as being in a stable beta phase, so bugs, incomplete features, or unexpected behavior may occur. It is a third-party client, not an official YouTube Music app. The evidence describes downloading tracks for offline listening but does not detail service-specific availability or account requirements.
