About Pagan

Pagan is a mobile music sequencer for composing and arranging music on Android. It uses numerical note values rather than a staff, piano roll, or keyboard-based interface. Users can divide beats freely to create polyrhythms and step sequences without choosing a fixed number of steps per measure. The app supports microtonal and variable-temperament tuning, including systems with more or fewer than twelve tones per octave. Users can load multiple SF2 soundfonts and combine sounds from different banks. MIDI devices can be used for playback, and MIDI files can be imported, rearranged, and exported. Projects can be exported as a single WAV file or as separate lines or channels for further processing. Pagan is intended for mobile composition and experimentation with rhythm, tuning, and soundfonts. Its interface and musical model are designed specifically for touch-screen use rather than copying a desktop piano-roll workflow.
