About Patchloom

Patchloom is a command-line tool for structured file editing, designed for use by AI coding agents and other software tools. It supports search and replace, unified-diff previews, and parser-backed operations on JSON, YAML, and TOML documents. It can edit Markdown sections, perform syntax-aware renames, and group changes across multiple files into transactions that can be undone. Patchloom also provides an MCP server for tool calls. These features let an agent or developer make targeted changes while seeing differences and maintaining a way to reverse a multi-file operation. Patchloom focuses on controlled, structured editing rather than unrestricted text replacement. The editing tools can work on one file or coordinated sets of files.
