About Phonograph Plus
Phonograph Plus is a local music player for Android that organizes and plays audio files stored on the device. It supports browsing music by songs, artists, albums, genres, and folders, with list or grid views and several ordering options. Search, favorites, play history, and recently added tracks help users find music in a library, while queues can be rearranged, shuffled, repeated, or saved as snapshots. Playback tools include speed control and a sleep timer, and the app can display synchronized lyric files as well as plain text lyrics. It supports both file-based and internal playlists, with basic editing and the option to pin file playlists. Notifications and the player interface are customizable, and the app includes widgets, shortcuts, Android Auto support, artwork sources, and an audio metadata viewer and tag editor. Settings and app data can be backed up, and users can switch the app’s language from within it. The player uses a Material Design interface with light, dark, and black themes, including automatic theme switching and customizable colors. The product description characterizes it as lightweight, offline, and ad-free. Some audio functions, such as an equalizer, are provided externally by the system rather than being described as built into the app. Phonograph Plus is an independent continuation of an earlier local music player, with further development and maintenance. Its feature set is aimed at people who want to manage and play their own on-device music collection.
