About PHOTO home
PHOTO home is a local-first organizer for family photo archives. It indexes folders and disks, then provides search by date, event label, camera, and filename along with a thumbnail grid that can still be viewed when a drive is disconnected. For each photo, it records where its date came from, prioritizing camera metadata and then using filename, folder, or file modification time. Uncertain dates are labeled separately. An optional organizing step proposes a year-and-month folder plan with event labels; nothing is moved until the user approves, and the default action is to copy. Every action is recorded in an undo journal, and duplicate content is checked byte for byte. The application can import photos from Android devices over USB and works offline without accounts or telemetry. It is intended for people organizing large personal photo collections while retaining control over their original files.
