PlanetScale CLI is a command-line tool for managing PlanetScale database deployments. It brings deployment concepts such as database branches and deploy requests into terminal workflows. A branch provides an isolated line of database changes, while a deploy request is a way to propose those changes for deployment. This lets users manage database work from the command line using the service’s deployment model. The CLI is intended for developers and database operators who work with PlanetScale deployments. Its branch and deploy-request concepts support changes that can be prepared separately and then proposed for deployment. Available actions depend on the database configuration and the permissions assigned to the user.
