About Prav
Prav is an Android messaging app built on the XMPP protocol. It supports text conversations and calls, with an onboarding flow intended to make setup approachable. Because it uses XMPP, Prav users can communicate with other XMPP users across compatible services instead of being limited to one closed messaging network. The product describes chats as private and states that only the participants can read them. Prav is open source, and the product is in public beta. The available information does not specify supported call types, encryption setup, media sharing, account recovery, or server requirements. Those capabilities should not be assumed from the general description. Prav is intended for people who want messaging and calling through an open protocol, with interoperability across XMPP services and a user-friendly mobile interface.
