About Ptyxis
Ptyxis is a terminal application designed for working with containers and development environments. It remembers the current container when a new tab is opened, with support for several container-management environments. Profiles can pair terminal preferences with container integration, while saved sessions and pinned tabs help users return to common working setups. The app provides a tabbed interface with tab overviews, configurable keyboard shortcuts, and user-installable color palettes. Palettes can be integrated with the window styling and support light and dark variants. Ptyxis tracks foreground processes and indicates when commands involve elevated privileges or remote SSH connections. Terminal sessions can use transparent backgrounds, and a separate-process mode is available for terminal applications. Each terminal tab runs in its own control group, and an inspector is included for examining processes while developing terminal-based applications. Ptyxis is intended for users who work across containers and want terminal tabs to retain context about the environment they are using. Its container-aware tab behavior, profiles, and saved sessions connect terminal access with repeatable development workflows.
