About Quasseldroid
Quasseldroid is an Android client for staying connected to IRC through a Quassel Core server. The core keeps chat history and maintains the connection, allowing users to reconnect from a phone and scroll back through earlier messages. Notifications can arrive for new messages even when the phone was not connected at the time they were sent. The app includes profile pictures and a Material-style interface for browsing IRC conversations. It is not a standalone IRC client: users need an account on a Quassel Core server. The core must run at least version 0.10, while version 0.13 or later is required for all features described. Quasseldroid is intended for people who already use Quassel or can access a compatible core. The server component provides persistent connectivity and history; without it, the app cannot connect to ordinary IRC networks on its own.
