About RecollDroid
RecollDroid is an Android interface for searching files indexed by the Recoll full-text search engine. It connects to a server-side API that exposes Recoll’s search functions, allowing users to search indexed files stored on a desktop or server from a mobile device. The backend uses a REST interface and can support multiple users. The documented setup uses HTTPS and basic authentication handled by a reverse proxy in front of the API service. The server layer itself does not implement authentication, so a proxy must validate users before they can connect. RecollDroid therefore depends on both an existing Recoll index and a properly configured server and authentication layer; it provides the mobile search interface rather than indexing and hosting files by itself.
