About RedTrigger
RedTrigger enables the shoulder triggers on compatible Nubia Red Magic phones to work across apps, rather than only inside the phone’s gaming environment. A watchdog service detects when the system resets trigger settings during an app switch and reapplies them so the triggers remain active. With Shizuku, the app can read raw input events and optionally remap them to L1/R1 key events through a virtual input device. This can let other apps or key-mapping tools use the shoulder sensors as hardware buttons. An option to enable the behavior at boot helps retain it after a restart. RedTrigger requires a compatible Red Magic phone and Shizuku, which can be run through wireless ADB or root. It is intended for users who want shoulder-trigger input available system-wide, including in apps outside the phone’s built-in gaming space.
