About Renkin
Renkin is an Android tool for creating installable icon packs directly on a phone. Users can choose source icons from other installed icon packs, use an app’s own icon or name, import their own images, or build text-based icons. Icons can then be redrawn or modified with path tracing, edge detection, recoloring, background removal, and vector editing. The editor can crop icons into Material You shapes such as circles, squircles, and pebbles, or place them on a colored shape. Imported SVGs can be rendered or brought in as editable vector paths. Text icons support custom text, letter case, and system fonts, with an additional bundled font. The resulting pack can be compiled and signed on the device, then selected in a compatible launcher. Renkin supports multiple named profiles, each with its own icon set and built pack. Profiles can be exported and shared as files; icons from paid packs remain unavailable on an importing device until that source pack is installed there. A complete backup can include profiles, settings, watch rules, and uploaded assets. Icon watch can notify users when a followed pack adds an icon for one of their apps, and calendar-day icons can change with the date. The workflow is offline and requires no account or computer. Renkin is useful for people who want to combine, edit, and package icon choices into a launcher-ready set, with profile export and backup for keeping or sharing their designs.
