About ReSearch

ReSearch is an Android reader for DSL-format dictionaries. Users can import local .dsl or .dsl.dz files or download dictionary files from a URL, then search headwords across multiple dictionaries at once. DictZip support lets the app retrieve an individual compressed article without decompressing an entire dictionary. Automatic indexing creates binary indexes for faster lookup, and the reader detects UTF-8 and UTF-16 little- or big-endian text encodings. The interface adapts to tablets and larger displays with a two-pane layout. Material 3 styling supports dynamic colors and light, dark, or system-following themes. The app is localized in English and Russian and is described as open source, without ads or tracking. ReSearch is designed for users who have DSL dictionaries and want fast search across a collection. Dictionary content can be added from files or URL sources, and the compression and indexing features help make large references practical to browse. The evidence does not specify where dictionaries can be obtained or whether every DSL extension is supported beyond the listed formats.
