About ReteClock
ReteClock turns an older Android phone into a full-screen digital clock for a desk or bedside stand. It displays the time in large 24-hour digits, along with seconds, weekday, date, and year. Wide and tall layouts rearrange the clock to fit the screen, and the app keeps the screen on while it is displayed. It can start when the phone is connected to a charger and can appear over the lock screen. Users can choose fonts for individual clock fields, adjust their weight and style, and set colors for text and background. Images can be assigned as backgrounds or used as fills inside the digits; still images, animated GIFs, and cross-fades can be arranged into a rotation. The drawing position moves slightly over time to reduce the risk of OLED burn-in. ReteClock also works as an Android screensaver on supported versions and with a desk dock. It runs on Android 2.3 and newer and requests no network or runtime permissions. The app is intended to reuse an older phone as a customizable clock display.
