About Routebase
Routebase is an API lifecycle workspace built around an OpenAPI specification, a standard description of an API’s endpoints and data. Teams can edit that specification visually and use it as the shared definition for documentation, mock responses, contract tests and monitoring. Keeping these outputs connected to one API definition reduces the need to recreate the same details in separate tools. When a specification changes, Routebase compares it with the prior version, identifies breaking changes and validates the live API against the updated contract. The desktop application provides access to projects, specifications and permissions in a native Windows workspace. Routebase requires an account. Its documented support includes Windows 11 and Windows 10 version 1809 or later. The workflow is intended for teams that design and maintain APIs and need the definition, testing artifacts and operational checks to stay aligned as an API evolves.
